Mauri Amota,

I think the president is too busy and don't have time to join KOC.
Sorry if you don't agree with my idea.

Thanks and hope to hear from ya anytime soon.

It a good idea....but personally to me, it quite hard to accomplish that......there are million reasons to one why it is impossible........

What I suggest is that the government should create one website where people can voice their concerns....and from there through the right people to the President....you may get what you may ask for.

This blog is an informal one.....so can we show courtesy to our leaders?
word of thought... you dont see President Obama or PM Rudd on My Space or Bebo..!!! There are proper channels for stuffs like this and if such an idea was to be considered... well, it would make a mockery of our government wouldnt it??? I agree with Riibeta to put up a government blog or forums where each citizen gets a chance to talk and discuss on issues concerning their government/country! The President's Office is on the verge of launching its website on the world wide web... and ideas on putting up govt blogs/forums is also on the agenda... its just a matter of time.

I really appreciate the idea but we've got to be realistic too.
....n ai aron are a communicate iai celebrities ibon irouia ma aia a fan kee???? Twitter or something, through blogs........yep i saw it every day on mX newpaper........e aoria ma iangoa beretitentim bwa ko aonga n create am account...........

Ritemba Moantau
Mauri kaain te Mwaneaba,
I want to share some of my thought with regard to the raised post. I believe in transparency and therefore I consider this piece to be of worth to some. This topic has been a key thinking for me for the past few months and I finally thought it would be great to share with you. I would kindly ask for your pros and cons on this matter.

Despite the amazing events, voice, ideas, and birthdays the internet has offer us, I will but first take a few steps back to observe some of the drawbacks this could possibly bring.

As a matter of fact, KOC is a social networking site! More or less... This is where we could pretty much share our day to day life experience! Therefore, as far as our honorable men such as our MPs. I don't really think it would be appropriate to raise such issues over our government meeting house(Te auti ni maungatabu). I don't object the fact that they are more than welcome but I think it would be nice just to give the opportunity but not as a requirement!

My other concern is computer security and threats! Privacy and Security should be our priority and top concern. Social networking sites are very vulnerable to internet hackers! Even with your famous Facebook and twitter! *** The link provides you with more info on Facebook being hacked**** (http://www.securecomputing.net.au/News/107015,facebook-user-profile...)....One is because they can easily sign up... and once they're accepted in... they then create automated programs (codes) that can be propagated throughout the network which can invades our personal information and privacy! Some of us are unaware as they begin to adopt this by giving out their private information such as their names, emails, and sometimes even more! The hacker will then use these info to spam your email address, sell your info to other hackers and many more. In short, I don't think it would be a good idea as far as this raised matter.

Please forgive me if I step on your way... looking forward to hear from anyone. Tekeraoi ngkami ni kabane!
Mauri kain to KOC!

Everybody has the freedom to raise issues to the Government of the day. Whether you get a timely response is another matter. If an issue of concern is shared by many individuals than that is a stronger voice that should be heard by the powers that be. Than perhaps KOC can be a tool/mechanism to formally and professionally raise issues of concern to the Government of Kiribati?

Power to the people!

God bless Kiribati!!!
I think that it was a very bad idea....

It beyond Kanamii ppl....

sorry don't mean to offend ya....but it is true...

no one mess up with the government policies...

only those who were selected by the ppl...could do that....

There's a saying, "Never Trace What Yr Government Did"
