So as many of you already know, I host a radio show in the US called The International Playlist on a college radio station (considering putting up a profile on here for it.
I have an idea to help raise awareness of Kiribati's existence and it's current problems.
I am aware that your country is in danger of disappearing under the sea and that not many tourists go to Kiribati.
I want to do a special episode for Kiribati. Playing all Kiribati music for two hours.
I will also be researching if there are any charities that work with your country to help people resettle who have lost their homes or their livelihoods.
Is there anyone here who wants to get involved with this special episode?
I am giving everyone in Kiribati the opportunity to get your voices heard on the US airwaves.
I realize calling outside of Kiribati is expensive, so we can do this a different way.
If you want to, make a voice recording that is anywhere from :10 seconds to one minute long (if you want to make it longer that's okay).
Include your name (it can be your first name, a nickname...), your age, 3 things you like about Kiribati, one reason you think tourists would enjoy visiting Kiribati, and anything else you would like to include. You can talk about the current situation about the rising sea levels if you want to.
My main goal is to get the voice of Kiribati on the US airwaves. Or if you don't have the means to record or you are not comfortable having your voice on the radio (which I can understand) just send me an email and I will read your statement on the air
Also, you can email me mp3s of some local artist's music in Kiribati so they can gain some international attention. I will do some youtube searches as well.

One thing I want to do is try to contact your president for a live phone interview about the country's situation. You think he'd be up for that? ;-)
